Decalogue for a natural and sustainable interior design. In A+DN, Natural Design Area, we carry out natural and sustainable interior design projects creating aesthetically pleasing and functional spaces that are respectful with the environment and with the well-being of our clients. For the realization of these interior design projects we are guided by 10 aspects that for us are fundamental.

Energy efficiency

We could say that it is essential to create a natural and sustainable interior design. We use the Passive house construction or rehabilitation method creating a single envelope and using building materials with high thermal insulation. We install energy efficient heating and air conditioning systems to reduce energy consumption along with heat recovery systems that can reduce energy costs by up to 90%. We use energy efficient appliances, led lighting, smart thermostats and, if possible, solar panels, every detail counts.

Natural light

For A+DN's interior design projects we prioritize the use of natural light without forgetting energy efficiency. This is achieved by using windows with high thermal performance and solar protection glass. At the time of installation we use different materials, such as bituminous paint or airtight tapes among others, making them free of thermal bridges. In new construction projects we maximize the entrance of natural light to reduce the need for artificial lighting during the day.

Natural and sustainable materials

For our natural interior design projects we choose materials that come from responsible sources such as FSC certified wood, which guarantees sustainable forest management. We use natural materials that are usually renewable, biodegradable and have a lower environmental impact. Today, we are fortunate to be able to use recycled and reclaimed materials as there is a large market for them. Reused wood materials or recycled plastics help reduce the demand for virgin resources and reduce the amount of waste.

Sustainable furniture

Fortunately, there are more and more furniture manufacturers that follow sustainable practices and ethical production processes. In our interior design projects we use furniture and decorative elements manufactured with low-emission production methods, recycled materials, low water consumption, etc. Lamps made from recycled plastic bottles, natural fabrics with sustainable processes, furniture made from recycled wood and many others.

Reduction, reuse and recycling

Natural and sustainable interior design employs design and construction practices to minimize waste. We plan the material to be used to reduce waste and consider the adaptation and/or reuse of existing elements as long as they are in good condition and meet quality standards. The restoration or cleaning of structural elements such as concrete pillars, metal beams or brick walls avoid the use of other materials and at the same time they act as decorative elements and embellish our projects.

Water conservation

We must be very conscious of the fact that water is a more and more finite commodity. In recent years we are seeing how drought and desertification are getting closer and closer or have already arrived. That is why in our interior design projects we use low consumption or that promote water saving. We achieve this with dual flush toilets, faucets with low flow aerators, smart appliances such as washing machines or dryers, which are able to detect the level of dirt to use as little water as possible to obtain the best cleaning results.

Biophilic elements

In our natural interior design projects we design spaces that allow us to incorporate natural elements such as trees or vertical gardens. Spaces that connect us directly with nature creating calm designs connected to the outside. Health and wellness

The central axis of each of our projects are our clients, those who will enjoy the space, getting to capture their personality while we cover all their needs. For this it is essential to promote a healthy and comfortable environment. We take into account several aspects such as: the ergonomics of the furniture as well as its adaptation to different utilities, air quality through recirculation or heat recuperators, acoustics isolating certain areas from noise such as bedrooms, lighting creating different environments with direct and indirect light, etc.

Long-term sustainability

It would not be a natural and sustainable interior design project if we had to renovate it after a short period of time. To achieve this we use good quality materials, long lasting and easy to maintain. For the structural elements we use colors in neutral tones achieving timeless designs that do not require frequent changes so less waste is generated in the long term.

Sustainable commitment A+DN

Ideas Interiorismo joins the environmental commitment with a sustainable initiative. A+DN is a sustainable design business option that returns to nature the resources used in architecture and interior design projects through the planting of trees, thus creating our own forest of ideas for interior design. Our commitment goes beyond the established and raises an initiative that returns to nature the resources used individually in each architecture and interior design project. Thus, planting as many trees as natural resources needed for the development of each project, quantitatively assigning a reward to nature, giving back what was lent.
